The Akidah Discussion Forum at District Level Pekan was held on 13 October 2026 (2 Jamadilawal 1448H) at Masjid Tanjung Batu, Ganchong, Pekan. The event was organized by the Research Division, Department of Islamic Religion Affairs Pahang (JAIP) in collaboration with the District Islamic Office of Pekan.
The forum attracted more than 60 local residents from Kampung Tanjung Batu, Ganchong and surrounding areas, aiming to raise awareness of current akidah threats and challenges that could affect the faith of Muslims.
The panelists were:
- Associate Professor Dr. Mahyudin bin Ismail, Senior Lecturer, Centre for Humanities Science, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA).
- Mr Ahmad Sukri bin Mohamed Sodin, Principal, Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) Rompin, State Akidah and Syariah Panel, Pahang.
The discussion was moderated by Mr Azhar bin Mat Nawi of JAIP’s Research Division. Attended also were Mr Noridzuan bin Abdul Manan, Deputy Director-General of JAIP’s Research Division, and Mr Mohd Aris bin Jamin, Al-Fadhil Qadhi of Pekan District.
JAIP hopes the programme will enhance the community’s knowledge and understanding of Islamic akidah, and encourage them to refer to authorised bodies for religious clarification.
