Skudai, 15 September 2026 / 3 Rabiulakhir 1448 — The 25th National Malaysian Islamic Secondary School Sports Championship (KESSUMA) and the Malaysian Islamic Secondary School Archery Festival (MESMA) officially opened with an inauguration ceremony held at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Skudai, Johor.
The ceremony began with a welcome address by YB Dato’ Haji Mohd Radzi bin Mohd Amin, Director of the Johor State Islamic Religious Department, followed by the inauguration speech by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Sirajuddin bin Suhaimee, Director General of the Department of Islamic Advancement Malaysia (JAKIM).
The event also featured a launch gimmick and the presentation of KESSUMA pennants to the heads of contingents as a symbolic acknowledgment of the participating states.
KESSUMA and MESMA bring together Islamic secondary school students from across the nation to develop sporting talent, instill discipline, leadership, competitiveness and teamwork, and to strengthen brotherhood among the students.
