The JAIP, in collaboration with JAKIM and the Pahang State Health Department, held a TOT workshop for RAMAH volunteers from 26 to 28 October 2026 in Jerantut, aiming to enhance volunteers’ competence in delivering Hospital-Friendly Ibadah services.

The Department of Islamic Religious Affairs of Pahang (JAIP), together with the Department of Islamic Advancement Malaysia (JAKIM) and the Pahang State Health Department, organised the Training of Trainers (TOT) Workshop for Hospital Mosque Volunteers (RAMAH) at State Level from 26 to 28 October 2026 in Jerantut.

The closing inauguration was officiated by YH Dato' Haji Abdul Zaki bin Md. Zain, Deputy Director of JAIP. Also present were YBrs Dr. Muhammad Yamin bin Ismail (Senior Director, Dakwah Division, JAKIM), YBrs Tuan Haji Mohd Fadzli bin Mat Saman (Chief Assistant Director, Dakwah Division, JAIP) and YBrs Tuan Mohd Sahirman bin Ahmad (Chief Assistant Director, Dakwah Division, JAKIM).

The workshop aimed to improve volunteers’ knowledge and skills in supporting the implementation of Hospital-Friendly Ibadah, particularly in worship management, Islamic psychospiritual approaches and spiritual care when interacting with patients.

Briefings were delivered by Dr. Mohd Hamdi bin Razali (Head, Spirituality and Islamic Affairs Unit, Hospital Selayang), Mr. Wan Muhammad bin Wan Ibrahim (Head, Corporate Communications and Sustainability Department, Hidayah Centre Foundation), Dr. Mohd Shahrin bin Ahmad Fuat (Emergency Medicine Specialist and Deputy Chairman, Hospital-Friendly Ibadah Committee, HOSHAS Temerloh) and Mr. Azhar bin Ahmad (Medical Social Worker, Hospital Bera).

Participants also undertook practical training and a visit to Jerantut Hospital to gain direct exposure to volunteer service delivery within a hospital setting.

The workshop is expected to produce competent, skilled and dedicated RAMAH volunteers who can assist patients in performing worship and provide spiritual support, thereby strengthening the Hospital-Friendly Ibadah programme in Pahang.
